Leo Tjäderhane is currently holding the position as the professor and head of the Division of Cariology and Endodontology at the University of Helsinki and the senior consultant at the Helsinki University Hospital. Leo’s research interests include the dentin-pulp complex biology and pathology and the adhesion of composites. He has published over 240 scientific original or review articles in international and more than 50 articles in national journals and supervised two MSc and 15 PhD theses. In the Finnish Dental Society Apollonia, Leo has served in the Committee for Continuing Education 19997-1999, in the Expertise Board 2007-2016, as a vice president 2019-2020 and as the President in 2021-2023. He is currently a member of the Board in the Apollonia-owned Finnish Dental Science Foundation. In Apollonia’s Division of Cariology, Restorative Dentistry and Endodontics he was a Member of the Board 1997-1998 and the Chairman 1999-2000. In 2024, he was appointed as a Honorary member of the Division. Leo also served as the member of the ESE Executive Board and the head of Research Committee in 2012-2020.

Antti Lehtinen
Antti Lehtinen is a specialist in oral and maxillofacial radiology, currently working at the Department of Radiology, Tampere University Hospital at Pirkanmaa Welfare District. His core expertise lies in interpreting advanced imaging studies of the facial skeleton, jaws, and dentition. He has strong professional interest in computer-assisted surgical planning and medical 3D printing. He underlines radiology as a critical link in the care pathway, where accurate diagnostics form the foundation for optimal patient outcomes

Joonas Liukkonen
Dr. Joonas Liukkonen is a specialist in periodontology. He currently works at both a private clinic and Päijät-Häme Central Hospital. His special interests include mucogingival and endodontic microsurgery. At the hospital, he also acts as an educator for dentists undergoing specialist training. His PhD research focused on salivary diagnostics of periodontitis.
His treatment philosophy is based on preserving natural teeth in close collaboration with other dental specialties. This demanding mission requires precision and patience—qualities he strives to share with both his patients and colleagues.

Outi Räikkönen
Dr. Outi Räikkönen received her DDS degree in 2009 and completed her specialist training in cariology and endodontics in 2023 at the University of Turku. She earned her PhD in 2021 from the same university, focusing on adult dental anxiety.
Dr. Räikkönen is involved in undergraduate teaching in endodontics at the University of Turku and has lectured in the fields of endodontics and dental anxiety. She currently works in private practice, with a primary focus on endodontic treatments.

Leo Tjäderhane
Leo Tjäderhane was born 1962 in Ylitornio, Lapland, Finland. He graduated from the University Oulu, Finland in 1986, where he also received his PhD in 1995 and the licensed specialty in cariology, restorative dentistry and endodontology in 2000. He worked as the post-doctoral fellow at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver, Canada, in 1995-1996, as an assistant professor at the Department of Endodontology, University of Toronto in 2001-2002 and at the University of Helsinki, Finland in 2002-2003. Later, he worked as a research fellow for the Academy of Finland in 2003-2008, after which he was appointed as a professor at the University of Oulu in 2008.

Pekka Vallittu
Pekka Vallittu earned his degrees in Dental Technology in 1988, followed by a Doctor of Dental Surgery and a Doctor of Philosophy in 1994. He received an Adjunct Professorship in 1995 and specialized in prosthodontics and stomatognathic physiology in 2000. Currently, he holds the position of Full Professor and Chair of Biomaterials Science at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Turku. He also serves as the Director of the Turku Clinical Biomaterials Centre. His extensive research activity, which focuses to large extent on fiber-reinforced composites and bioactivity in medicine and dentistry, began in the late 1980s and has led to a significant number of publications and patents.

Annina Wuokko-Landén
Annina Wuokko-Landén received her PhD degree at the University of Helsinki, Finland in 2024 and graduated from the same university in 2013. Her PhD thesis aimed to study the diagnostics of odontogenic sinusitis and the prevalence of typical OS-related findings at tertiary health care level. Main focus has been to increase knowledge of odontogenic sinusitis and build bridges between different fields of specialties.
She has extensive clinical experience in treating all-aged patients comprehensively. Currently she is working at the City of Helsinki, Oral and Dental Centre in Meilahti, which provides emergency dental care for adults. In her work she combines practical dentist skills with her research knowledge.
